My "Shoffice": A She-Shed Office Dream Zone

The next step in my new home adventure is my "Shoffice" – a combo word I coined for my “She-Shed Office" that I'm absolutely ecstatic to create. Oh, and I'm just having a little brainstorming sesh to come up with the perfect name for it. Any suggestions? Maybe "Shayna's Secret Lair," "Mom's Great Escape," or the classic "No Kids Allowed Sanctuary"? It's my favorite room in the house because it's a space that reflects my personality and allows me to work creatively.  Come me on this exciting and oh-so-fabulous adventure! We'll dive into some oh-so-clever tips and tricks that I'm using to turn my She-Shed Office into the ultimate productivity and creativity sanctuary. Ready or not, here we go! 💁‍♀️✨

Alright, so my "shoffice" (fancy word for shed-office) is approximately 144 square feet of pure awesomeness. Not only does it have the main area, but it also boasts a storage closet and a walk-in full bathroom. Talk about luxury! Sure, I might have some occasional guests in this space, but let's get real - it's mainly for my interior design and medical profession. And, let's not forget, it's my refuge when I need a break from my lovely kids and (future) hypoallergenic dog. Mommy needs her "me" time, you know?

Oh, and did I mention the 10 ft ceilings? Perfect for accenting with some jazzy wallpaper or a funky pop of color. Get ready for my go-to gallery wall of inspiration, featuring fierce African American women who give me strength when life throws curveballs. And let's not forget the lighted logo because, well, I'm in the glorious city of Vegas, baby! Bling is a must.

Now, let's talk about the color palette. No more boring neutrals like "agreeable gray" for me. I'm going all out - painting the walls, baseboards, and maybe even the ceiling in a striking deep green. That's right, my She-Shed Office is going to be a statement-maker. And guess what? It'll perfectly complement the green glass tiles in the bathroom, elegantly arranged in a herringbone pattern. Hello, sophistication!

For the finishes, I am mainly going for a natural biophylic vibe by bringing the outdoors inside. My “shoffice” is connected to an inner courtyard area where I can open up the doors to let in some nature and hopefully some soothing water sounds. Now you all know, I'm all about the faux floral and succulent world inside my homes – it's low maintenance and looks great all year round.

I want this "shoffice" to be an oasis of peace in this crazy world, like a zen den (hey, look at that rhyme!). I know you're probably wondering, "How do you even design a peaceful office space?" I mean, work can be a snooze-fest, right? Well, here's the thing—it doesn't have to be stressful or boring. My brilliant suggestion is to add some personal touches that bring you joy. Seriously, whether you're into meditation or just need a cozy corner to work and read a book, a Zen Den is like a stress-reducing superpower that also boosts productivity. So, let's embrace the calmness and crush that work game! Oh, you know what really gets me going in my work zone? Those African wall basket collages that I love designing. Yup, they're my personal faves. They inspire me, uplift me, and help me keep trudging through this crazy entrepreneurial journey. It's a total beast, am I right?

Oh, by the way, you can't be a virtual interior designer without tech! It's an absolute must-have in my field. But listen up, my friend, when it comes to technology, having the right equipment is kind of a big deal. Trust me, you'll need a reliable internet connection and a top-notch computer to stay connected and stay focused. Oh, and don't forget to create a distraction-free office setup. You might even want to consider sound dampeners as accent walls or soothing water sounds, to block out the noise? But hey, here's the best part: you don't have to choose between style and productivity. Get your hands on some fancy tech accessories and stylish soundproofing. Boom! Efficiency and flair, all wrapped up in one package! And hey, if you need someone who knows a thing or two about this, well, lucky you! I know a great designer (yes, that's me) and I'm here to help!

My "shoffice" is almost done, just a couple more months (totally worth the wait, I swear) before I can unleash my inner interior designer! I mean, who needs a boring workspace when you can have a slice of awesomeness to work, relax, and express yourself? No blandness allowed here, folks. Get ready for some serious style and personality, my friends. Buckle up for the grand reveal because it's going to be LEGENDARY! Can't contain my excitement, seriously. Stay tuned, folks. It's gonna be epic. 😎
